In The Spotlight For This Savannah / Charleston Tour

Food Network host Paula Deen started her restaurant in Savannah by delivering bagged lunches to office workers in Savannah in 1989. She started the business with $200 and lots of help from her sons and appropriately named it "The Bag Lady". In 1991, after two successful years of "The Bag Lady" and doing catering jobs as well, Paula was able to lease space at the Best Western and open her own full-service restaurant, "The Lady", a dream come true. By 1996 Paula had such a following of happy patrons that she bought and renovated the old Sears building in Savannah and opened "The Lady and Sons". She also published her first two cookbooks at around this time. Fortunately, the restaurant's success didn't stop there and a larger building was purchased in Savannah's Historic District and opened in 2003. Having been called the "Queen of Southern Cuisine" Paula currently hosts two shows on the Food Network (Paula's Party and Paula's Best Dishes), has published eight cookbooks, has her own signature cookware, and tours the country doing cooking shows. You won't just enjoy dinner at "The Lady and Sons" you'll savor the experience, so y'all come and eat at "The Lady and Sons".

BVT America customers have come to expect quality for their vacation dollars. Nowhere is that quality more evident than in our Tour Directors. Your BVT Tour Director is a trained professional who is friendly, knowledgeable, and very caring. The Tour Director will guide you through the tour in an effortless manor, the end result being a fun vacation experience worth repeating. Our Deep South Low Country Tour includes breakfast each morning and dinner each evening (meal gratuities included). Hotel and Airport baggage handling is included throughout the tour. Ground transportation is via wide-bodied late model restroom equipped motorcoaches with DVD stations (a BVT America standard). Although BVT America reserves the right to make substitutions due to venue cancellations, passenger safety, or severe weather, every attempt will be made to replace activities with items or activities of an equal or greater value, as deemed necessary for the smooth operation of the tour.

Important - Travelers with Disabilities

Since many of the attractions on the Deep South Low Country Tour of Savannah and Charleston are historic sites that have been preserved in their original form, wheelchair access is extremely limited. In addition travelers taking this tour should be in reasonably good health, as many of the attractions must be visited on foot. Some of the historic locations require substantial walking (possibly on uneven surfaces). There are also a number of locations that required climbing stairs. Unfortunately, since our BVT America Tour Directors have many travelers to account for, BVT America is not able to provide travelers with special needs any personal assistance in these matters. For a person needing special assistance, BVT America requires that he or she have a traveling assistant who is fully responsible for meeting those needs.
