View Over 30 Fountains and The Carillons at Bi-Centennial Park
Built in 1996 to commemorate Tennessee's Bicentennial celebration and to complement the State Capitol Building which lays to the south, Bicentennial Park is a 19 acre green space in otherwise urban surroundings. Of note within the park are the 31 Rivers of Tennessee Fountains, The World War II Memorial, The Pathway of History, and, most notable, The Court of 3 Stars Carillons. The 95 bell Carillons are constructed of red, white, and blue granite, symbolizing the 95 counties of Tennessee. A 96th bell, at the State Capitol, called the answer bell symbolizes the government answering to the people. The carillons at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park are the largest in the world.
