Since 1974 Mickey Gilley has been a force in the country music industry, when his first #1 Country Hit, "Room Full of Roses" was recorded. Over the course of his career, Mickey has had 17 #1 Country Hits including: "You Don't Know Me", "The Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time", "A Headache Tomorrow or A Heartache Tonight", and "Stand By Me". Mickey's Pasadena, Texas nightclub, called Gilley's Club, was opened in 1970 and was known as the biggest Honky Tonk in the world. The success of Gilley's Club and other clubs like it, was the catalyst for the movie "Urban Cowboy" which featured Mickey in a small part and was partly responsible for causing "Stand By Me" to cross over to the Pop and Contemporary Charts. Mickey's Branson show spotlights his vast musical career with a number of his hits, and the comic genius of Joey Riley. Mickey and Joey make the perfect comedy team, with Mickey playing the straight man to Joey's antics.
